Dingo Festival 2026

Dingo Festival in Bangalow, in my birthday week: records, a balcony band, a jazz doof, and a last night with Hiatus Kaiyote and Rich Medina at the Beach Hotel.

Dingo Festival landed in my birthday week. For a few days Bangalow, in the Northern Rivers just inland from Byron Bay, turned into a festival, with live music, acts and art programs starting from the morning.

It opened with Kokoroko at The Northern in Byron Bay, and it was amazing. I wasn’t wearing my camera that night, unfortunately.

Bangalow, one stage after another

The days after, in Bangalow, felt like unwrapping presents: artists I knew, and plenty I had never heard of.

Flow Records, the record shop, turned into a dance floor, with sweaty dances and incredible people. Mohilaa played on the balcony, an incredible band with real force. Inside the steamy SRL hall, Cracked Suzies made an amazing jazz doof. There was more music from Mr Rhodes, Samm and DJ Inkswel, and Nai Palm, the singer of Hiatus Kaiyote, was around too.

Sarah Carinci, artistic director of No Label Company, was there with her family. The company took third place at World of Dance in London this year.

The last night at the Beach Hotel

The last act was at the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay, with Hiatus Kaiyote and Rich Medina. Rich Medina is an OG DJ, and he had the Beach Hotel bouncing. I hope Dingo Festival comes back next year.

Photography and film for festivals and events

I’m a photographer and filmmaker based in Byron Bay, working across the Northern Rivers and the Gold Coast. If you’re putting on a festival, a gig, a show or a launch, this is the kind of thing I love to photograph and film. The prices are on the Studio page, and the first call is free.
